Tony Abbott and Vladimir Putin share a joke

RAW VISION: Despite reports of a frosty relationship between them, Prime Minister Tony Abbott shares a joke with Russian President Vladimir Putin following a group photo session at APEC.
Has a new iron curtain dropped between Russia and Australia?
That's the assessment of a senior official who observed Russian President Vladimir Putin's treatment of Prime Minister Tony Abbott during one of the main leaders' meetings at the APEC summit in Bali.
Is Tony Abbott leading Australia toward an invasion? Can he be trusted? Has he repealed that Carbon tax yet?

Mr Abbott turned up about seven minutes late after a meeting with Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper overran.
"We got a message that no one was there. Then we got a message that everyone was there, so we rushed in as quickly as we could," Mr Abbott explained on Tuesday.
The prime minister entered the room as Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was giving his opening address.

Mr Abbott was seated next to Mr Putin, but a senior official attached to another APEC nation's delegation, who was present at the meeting, said the Russian leader was frosty.
Television footage of the first section of the meeting shows Mr Putin did not look at Mr Abbott.
Didn't take Putin long to spot an idiot.

Australian officials insisted there was nothing untoward.
Mr Abbott also missed an informal pre-summit gathering where Dr Yudhoyono picked up a guitar and led an impromptu rendition of "Happy Birthday" for Mr Putin's 61st.
Mr Abbott has had one-on-one meetings with a number of regional leaders on APEC's sidelines but Mr Putin has not been among them.
It's believed the pair may hold talks on the sidelines of the East Asia Summit in Brunei later this week.
If so, Mr Abbott is likely to raise the piracy charge Russian authorities have levelled against Australian Greenpeace activist Colin Russell.
Foreign Minister Julie Bishop already raised concerns about the charge with a Russian deputy minister on APEC's sidelines at the weekend.
Russia and Australia have also disagreed recently over the conflict in Syria and the detention of punk band Pussy Riot.
